1980 to Present!

TSP TEXAS STAR PARTY

Founders David Clark, George Ellis, and Don Garland organized the TSP on Prude Ranch in 1982. The TSP is held each year in late April or May. Astronomy clubs from the Southwest Region of the Astronomical League (SWRAL) and individual volunteers help operate the annual astronomy convention. TSP annual population has grown from 535 attendees in 1982 to more than 800 attendees in 1994.

The 31st Annual Texas Star Party will be hosted on the magnificent Prude Ranch, a 3500 acre mile-high ranch located six miles northwest of Fort Davis on Highway 118... 12 miles on the same road from McDonald Observatory...  May 5th - 12th 2013!

Cyclefest Tour Hammerfest Race

Cyclefest Tour & Hill Climb and Hammerfest Race

Cyclefest and Hammerfest are arguably the best and most scenic Bike Rides in the state of Texas with beautiful vistas , easy novice routes and challenging hills. Cyclefest and Hammerfest are "must dos" for every cyclist.

The annual Cyclefest and Hammerfest Bike Tour and Hill Climb are held in the scenic "Texas Alps" of West Texas in Fort Davis, Texas. The Tour provides varying distance routes from 10, 25, 55 and 75 miles.

The events are staged at the Historic Prude Ranch in Fort Davis.

Founded in 1986 by Truman “Doc” Spoon, The Davis Mountains Sports Medicine Clinic offers Athletic Trainers in the State of Texas the opportunity for continuing education on athletic issues and injuries! Held every year at the beginning of the summer, Davis Mountains Sports Medicine Clinic has an average attendance of 130 participants. - JUNE 6-8, 2012!

Leadership Odessa is a program designed to identify train and motivate the finest current and future leaders of Odessa.

Established by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce in 1978, Leadership Odessa strives to ensure the continuity of leadership for the community.

The program provides a broad base perspective of the community. Leaders involved in only one field gain additional knowledge about the community needs.

A series of eight full-day sessions (the third Thursday of each month and one weekend retreat) offer learning opportunities and challenges participants to become more actively involved in building a better tomorrow for Odessa. - SEPTEMBER 8-9, 2012
